![]() ![]() That last go-around with the PA cab's soured me on them permanently. I'm actually amazed they are still in business.Īnyway - my advice is too look elsewhere. Can't imgine what it must be like for mail-order-only. It's a tough business for companies that move a lot of product in the retail market. They are mail order only if I'm not mistaken. I can't imagine what they must be going through these days. Carvin always used to have a pretty good rep. I am of the opinion that their QC is terrible and I predict the quality of their materials is shoddy. Carvin kept blaming it on UPS but there was no external signs of damage to the boxes. Every time they sent her replacement units there was something wrong with them - the worst was damaged cabinets. She spent (I'm not kidding) three months shipping cabinets back and forth trying to get 4 working units. The amp arrived very well packed, the matching cover was only about 17 extra and fits nicely. I went with the 'White Bronco' tolex just for fun as Carvin is currently offering your choice of about 8 different colors for no extra charge. Two of the four arrived damaged (one with broken cabinet, one with bad tweeter) - no shipping damage - just bad QC. So on to the review, out of the box, the MB210 looks very well built. She was buying 4 PA speakers for a karaoke system. That's good enough for me.ģ) Speakers - here's where it gets really bad. I guess that's a common problem though.Ģ) Bass amp & Bass guitar - great stuff! They make good guitars but I remember the input jack going bad a couple of weeks after I got it. Some pots didn't work (from just sitting there). I seem to remember they had a problem with the silkscreen legends being wrong but I don't remember what exactly. Not so great for recording but it was decent enough for live work. Let's see - I've bought a lot of stuff from them - where to beginġ - Mixer - bought a 16 channel mixer from them a long time ago. I have experiences with Carvin - both good and horrible to report - going back to the early 90's. ![]() ![]() It's just that I've never dealt with Carvin, OR seen it in stores.Īny advice would be great.or hey if you can offer a better mixer in that price range? 12 channels, dual has 3 amps.200 less watts than the Peavey, but that's not much of a concern for me. I had narrowed it down to two EXTREMELY similar models.the Mackie 808S, Peavey XR696F,īut then my friend turned my attention to the Carvin 1200. I gig so often that I want/need new equiptment after 3 years of HARDCORE beating. ![]() I'm looking to go something different just for change.
